For the record, you can't tell how much somebody makes based on what part of town they live in. And treating people differently based on their geographical place of origin is discrimination. Suffice it to say, we CAN afford the house we looked at, otherwise we would not have bothered to drive 30 minutes to get to it.

If you are buying or selling a home Coldwell Banker Burnet is the best in Minneapolis and St. Paul

Five minutes into the tour of the house we encountered Ms. Ing. After our introductions she revealed that the house needed repairs. When I asked what needed to be repaired, she said I would have to hire an inspector to find out. How rude is that? Couldn't she have just told us what was wrong that needed fixing? Practically every house that isn't a reno or new construction has something that needs to be fixed, I don't see why the realtor wouldn't disclose the information - especially after she volunteered something was wrong without any prompting from me!

When we entered the home, we were quickly greeted, which is good, but the associate realtor hovered closely around us and the experience quickly went downhill from there.

Amazing Customer Service

My wife and I went to an open house in Minnetonka, hosted by realtor, Ching Ing. There were two realtors hosting this open house, Ms. Ing and her associate; didn't catch her name.

This was our very first time going to an open house in an outer ring suburb, and if everything is a matter of perception, I have to say - WOW! Perception not good at all. I can't imagine the locals of Minnetonka in 55345 are this pretentious, condescending, unprofessional, or judgmental. I guess we'll never know; our first impression was so bad - we decided that life in the western suburbs is definitely not for us.

Loved John's no-nonsense approach. I was skeptical about using a realtor to sell my investment property but John & his team were able to get me multi offers in the first week listing property on the market because of: solid home prep advising, detailed pre-listing, well organized follow up and superb negotiation. Needless to say we could not have gain this amount of return selling it through a discount agent or selling it ourselves.

I'm not thrilled with being added to your spam list on multiple email accounts today.

Ing's associate was very keen to know exactly where we live. I've been asked the "Where do you come from?" questions before. It's Realtor for "How much money do you make?" - assuming that your income is derived by your geographical residence. But this time, the questioning was aggressive and probing. We answered and said we live in Minneapolis. She responded with - Okay, where in Minneapolis? I don't see how this is relevant in any way... After a very comfortable and cagey Q&A exchange about Minneapolis, she connected the dots... Oh you live in North Minneapolis!! Her demeanor immediately changed.

The shenanigans continued. Ing's associate asked me in a really dismissive and condescending tone of voice - if I could afford the house without selling our current house. She then went on to say that they wouldn't accept a contingency offer. Look, I get the whole contingency thing, but who on Earth, in their right mind talks to people like that. I hadn't even expressed any interest in the home beyond just wanting to look at it. I hadn't asked, and I don't see how implying that I don't have enough money--which isn't the case--and therefore don't belong there, is a winning sales strategy. If the house is sold tomorrow, then it gets sold tomorrow; oh well, not going to break my heart. I'm not going to rush into one of the most important life decisions because the realtor is in a hurry, especially when they were constantly inferring that we weren't able to afford the house.
