The food is great and awesome happy hour. However this place really has become a milenial hang out. So if you can deal with the bs then it will be yummy.
Great food. (Wonderful Happy Hour Appetizers!] Always great service without exception.
I had a friend visiting from out of town and brought her to Kona straight from the airport because it’s been one of my favorites for happy hour since moving to the Minneapolis area. The bar was packed which was to be expected since it was happy hour but we made our way to the patio and found a seat right away. After a few minutes a server approached us with menus. We then saw another table open close by that we asked to move to. He was extremely rude and responded by taking the menus and saying “Someone else will be helping you at that table so good luck getting service anytime soon.” We moved to the other table and WOW was he right! 15 minutes later, still no server, although 3 different people did walk by and said “someone will be right with you.” We ended up going back inside and a table had opened up by the bar. We sat down and right away a nice, friendly server walked up and greeted us. I think her name was Amaya (spelling could be wrong). The one star for this review is for the excellent service she provided to counter the rest of our terrible time. She even reminded us that happy hour was ending in a minute, so we could order one more drink! Also, the food was fast and delicious so I’ll probably be back.
This used to be my favorite place in the cities to have happy hour until they changed their menu raising their happy hour prices significantly. They also removed my favorite thing from the menu, the ahi tuna crisps. Most of their happy hour food items are now 8 dollars a piece. Their food is pretty good but not worth the increase in price compared to other nearby restaurants
My wife and I have been here numerous times as a couple, with friends, as a family, and large group. We've never been less than impressed with food or service. During happy hour, the bar side does get busy and is loud but is still enjoyable. Once while there with another couple while with our infant, we sat and ordered some appetizers at the sushi bar while waiting for a table to open on the bar side. Once ready to move, the staff moved all our drinks/appetizers for us and helped hold the table as they setup a sling for the infant carrier. I was ultra impressed that they went out of the way for us. Like I said, I've never been disappointed by any staff or food and always look forward to going back!
